Duehuset - Aurlandsvangen

Usually we research places before we go, this place was not one of those. So in context, we had zero expectations. Having said that we were starving from a day exploring the fjords and a little buzzed from the hotel drinks. My husband and I split the deer burger and lamb dish. I meant to take pictures but we inhaled them. The lamb melted in my mouth and the burger was lean and fresh. Leaving one star out bc the burger sauce was kinda gross and we just used mayo and mustard instead...and the prices were ridiculous (which is not unusual for Norway but whatev).

I have to say, for a restaurant/pub in the middle of nowhere, this place hit the spot two nights in a row. First night was burgers. A little too much thousand island sauce but good overall. The pizza is the best value. Not bad and it can feed three hungry people. Cheers!

The reindeer burger is great! Anders they've got some nice beers!!

We ate here as the options are limited. There's a buffet (all you can eat up the hill at the hotel) that didn't appeal to us. It's mostly burgers, salads and pizza. We got the vegetarian pizza which was massive and way more than 2 people could eat. It was pretty good with a cold beer after kayaking the fjords for 3 hours.
