We visit this restaurant a couple of times a month and have generally been very satisfied with our meals. However, this evening was an exception. My wife ordered a salad, which was fresh and crisp, while I chose the Ribeye sandwich with fries. The fries were excellent, but unfortunately, the sandwich did not meet expectations. The bun was greasy and soggy, making it quite unappetizing. Strangely, the sandwich contained pieces of cauliflower and carrots but very little meat. On a positive note, the manager was understanding about the situation, explained that there was a new employee in the kitchen, and kindly removed the sandwich from our bill. Despite this hiccup, we will definitely return and give the kitchen another chance.
However, upon our arrival, we were surprised to receive a menu with only a few select items, none of which matched the usual offerings. Not even the "Breakfast Burger," which I always order, was available, and my husband couldn't get his usual fish dinner. I later found out that Six Horses is now leasing out their kitchen and bar, rather than operating in-house. With this change, I decided to try something new and ordered the Lobster Mac and Cheese, as many patrons claimed it was the best. Unfortunately, when my dinner arrived, the smell was quite nauseating, and I noticed other guests also commenting on it. I questioned the brown substance on top of the noodles, which looked like ground beef, along with the "spicy" lobster, although the menu didn't mention any spice. The new chef informed me it was crab instead. It's baffling why Lobster Mac and Cheese would be on the menu when what was served was a fishy-smelling concoction that deviated completely from the original recipe. Other patrons echoed my concerns, noting that the Mac and Cheese sauce didn't resemble what it used to be. Unable to eat this disaster, I opted for a plain burger with asparagus as a substitute. Previously, burgers at Six Horses ranged from $15 to $17, with specialty burgers on Tuesdays for $22 and a free beer. This time, my regular burger cost the same $22, but with no free beer, and the asparagus was old, thin, and overcooked—essentially like eating toothpicks. My husband tried the grilled chicken sandwich and found it quite good, although the fries were excessively salted. It's going to be a long time before we consider dining at Six Horses again.
We waited 20 minutes for our drink order and the food was soggy and the portions were not great
Excellent food and setting! The place is newly remodeled and looks fabulous. There's also a very nice patio for dining.
