I 'm from England, and I love all types of pasties and sausage rolls, and I have yet to find a place in the U.S. that offers good food. The sausage roll was incredible (just like the homeland), and I tried the special they had that day which was a ground beef pasty. Both were sooo good. I couldn 't leave without taken some home either! So I grabbed a few and put them in the freezer. Great place with a great atmosphere. The owner and his family are warm and welcoming. And while I was there, 2 separate ladies came in and took home close to $100 worth of pasties each!!! So it must be good!!
We picked up a variety of pies Saturday night to bake up when the whole family was around on Sunday. We tried the following: Sausage Rolls Beef Pasties Pepper Steak Cheeseburger Ham and Cheese and one of the specials of the day Pepperoni Pizza! All were absolutely amazing. I did not know what to expect with the cheeseburger, the ham and cheese, or the pizza, and I was blown away by how delicious they were. The atmosphere was very friendly and warm, and the smell when you walk in the door is incredible. I was disappointed we weren't eating right then and there! We are used to steak and ale type of meat pies (I'm Scottish and my husband is Irish) and the pepper steak is the closest to that style, but I would say try them all!
Absolutely the best South African pie shop within a 100 mile radius. All jokes aside, the food here is great!
Can't decide if I liked the pepper steak or chicken pot pie more! My daughter loved your sausage roll! It brought back memories to her, but she says yours is even better than in Joburg. You have new regulars here. What a great surprise!!!
Excellent meat and dessert pies!!! The crust is made from scratch and is to die for!
