He offered clear instructions and was very patient, even when our group got a bit distracted by side conversations. We also had a wonderful photographer (I think his name was Steven) who captured a plethora of stunning, high-quality photos with a professional camera. He even climbed alongside us to snap action shots! I highly recommend this place for any kind of group gathering.
Absolutely fantastic experience! I was a bit nervous since I had never climbed or bouldered before, but our corporate team event made it incredibly enjoyable and accessible! We had an instructor who guided us through everything we needed to know and was available for any questions we had. The facility is beautiful, the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, and overall it was just a wonderful experience. I highly recommend giving it a try!
**First Impressions:** As soon as I walked into the gym, I noticed the extensive amount of slab—I've never encountered a gym with this much slab before. In fact, about 65% of the space is dedicated to it. While there isn't much overhang, there is a nice cave feature, and at least two top-out boulders. The gym is built with a high level of quality, similar to other Boulder Projects, but I found this location to feel a bit on the unclean side. I really appreciated the soft mats, as they made me feel more secure during top-outs. Additionally, there are many volumes scattered throughout. **Overall Experience:** My visit was a bit of a mixed bag. I came on a Thursday night, and it was quite crowded. Unfortunately, I didn't have a single conversation with anyone, despite attempting to initiate a few. The people there seemed friendly enough, but most were already engrossed with their friends, and the discussions rarely centered around climbing or pushing limits. I was hoping to train hard and was a bit let down at the lack of climbing partners. The route setting is quite good, but I found that many of the holds were rather large—there are a lot of jugs here. Instead of challenging crimp holds, I often encountered generous bucket holds, which made several routes feel easier than I expected. On the plus side, the foot holds were excellent, and there were several dynamic problems to tackle. There is a dedicated competition training area, and some comp-style problems are integrated throughout the gym; however, I noticed that the holds for those competitive problems didn’t seem to be of the best quality. As for the overall hold quality, it's a mix: some are top-notch fiberglass, others are decent plastic, but there are also quite a few older plastic holds. I did notice a shortage of brushes for cleaning holds. On a positive note, the gym store has a fantastic selection of chalk, and I picked up a bag. **Conclusion:** My favorite aspect of the gym was the routesetting, while my least favorite was the overall gym culture. If I find myself in Austin again, I wouldn't choose to return to this gym alone, but I think it could be a lot of fun in a group setting. I sincerely hope the atmosphere improves in the future. In comparison to gyms on the West Coast and even in other parts of Texas, my experience here was somewhat disappointing.
This place is absolutely amazing If I lived in Austin I'll definitely get a membership here but I'm only in town for a couple days on a road trip so I just got the day pass for $20 but it was amazingly worth it! Really fun climbing without the restrictions of harnesses If you fall it's not a big deal the whole floor is like a giant pillow You won't get hurt. Also have a gym and shower on site so you can get quite the work out here while having fun! Great place for kids too! 10/10 would recommend you check this place out if you're in town and if you live here geta membership! Way better than a normal gym!
Margarita tuesdays is awesome. I really enjoyed elderly night, 65+ only. The petting zoo is definitely a great way to decompress. Anyway, i guess the climbing is cool, the real treat are the hand dryers in the restroom. 10/10
