My boyfriend ordered a po' boy with half shrimp and half fish. I really enjoyed my sandwich, and the 6-inch size was quite filling. My favorite part was definitely the beignets! I highly recommend visiting this place!
I had trouble locating the restaurant, so I decided to walk down to King Bee. By chance, I stumbled upon the food truck with the same name. The food was incredible! I’m definitely going to have a hard time resisting the urge to come back every day for the crawfish étouffée. The bread for the po' boy was just like what you’d find in New Orleans. Some reviews claim the food is overpriced, but I disagree. Given how amazing my meal was, I would gladly pay even more for it!
**Overview: 4.2/5** I visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening with a colleague who was eager to try some southern cuisine while in Texas from out of state. **Location: 5/5** The location was easy to find with Google Maps, but unfortunately, parking was quite a challenge. **Price: 5/5** The prices were reasonable based on what we ordered. **Product/Service: 5/5** I can't recall the exact name of the sandwich I had, but it featured fried shrimp and was incredibly delicious. I also ordered a side of sausage chicken gumbo. My colleague noted that it was a bit runnier than traditional gumbo, but I can't comment, as it was my first time trying it. **Pointers/Perks: 1/5** While the food was excellent, I strongly advise against using the restroom if you plan to return. After visiting, you might hesitate before ordering again. **Employees: 5/5** The young lady who served us was exceptionally polite, showcasing genuine southern hospitality, which is something I truly appreciated during my time in Austin.
We decided to come eat here after we went to New Orleans and had some of the best food. The food here was very good. The atmosphere was very New Orleans like. We got blackened catfish poboys and crawfish. The fish needed alil more spice but all in all the food and service was great. Can't wait to go back.
My Louisiana born GF and I both agree this place is absolutely on point and even better quality than some restaurants on bourbon or magazine street. Beignets are 100% on par as Cafe Du Monde
