I went on a sxsw bbq tour this was by far the most expensive and overall worst taste. The actual restaurant was beautiful tho she tv 's everywhere felt very new. Bbq Sauce NoFlavors Very Black PepperService Was CoolFree Beans were the star of the show! Save your time and money skip this one
Pretty good BBQ and centrally located in downtown Austin. We arrived at 830 for dinner at SXSW. There was a line to order, but it moved quickly and we could easily find seating Favorites: Jalapeño Cheese sausage my favorite of the three meats we ordered. Juicy and Popping with taste. Mac and cheese creamy with a spicy kickBrisket fat, crispy tasty Would not recommend: pork ribs too dry and lack taste green beans (with bacon) a very strange, synthetic taste
This was a highlight of the experience and taste of Austin. It is the one place of amazing barbeque that is very Texas that you must definitely have. PERIOD. The bartender is very personal and friendly and has a lot of insight into Austin. You have a good selection of brews that fits perfectly with your bbq ribs and brisket. The way they marinated their meat and how they cooked it guarantees them a place in heaven. I've never tasted anything like this before. BAR NONE. Period. So, do yourself a favor - whether you're in town for a day or two... or a week, I'm not just visiting for lunch, DO IT AGAIN-GO AGAIN. I'm telling you, you won't regret taking this advice.
A meat extravaganza! Texas really knows how to get BBQ. Cooper was one of the stations on our food tour and I fell in love. The Brisket was so tender and had the perfect season. And dipping it into the Au-Jus brought it to the next level. We went back to try the pork ribs and the chicken together with more brisket. I also have a potato salad and peach kicker as sides. The potato salad was a mummy mess. Not recommended. But the peach bull was really good. The other meats did not measure up to the brisket, but were a nice meal as a whole.
We had Cooper 's in the Stockyards several years ago and we both really were not impressed. We came across this one in Austin and thought you know everyone deserves a second chance. On the plus side it was very quick and efficient getting through the line, ordering, and paying. I got the chopped brisket sandwich and was I disappointed. I took my first bite and the first thing I said was the bun has either been in the warmer too long or it 's stale. Nothing like a very piece of dry bun in your mouth .... I couldn 't eat it so I took the bun off and tried to eat the meat.... Well the meat was very fatty. Now, I know what you are thinking. I know brisket has some fat in it. It adds flavor. Well, this was way too much fat! On a different note my spouse got the pork ribs and they were very very good. Guess I ordered the wrong thing again.
