Fairmont Austin

We went to Thanksgiving in 2019 and it was epic. they had a very raw bar with oysters, crabs and garnels as well as delicious and unique sides. this year was a total waste of money. the apps consisted of a moderate charcuterie station. the main thing was okay. the sides were simple and the dessert looked like it was from costco. certainly not worth $130 a person. would not recommend.

The food was excellent; however, it would have been helpful if they had informed us that an 18% gratuity had already been included in the bill. I was unaware of this, as it wasn't clearly highlighted or mentioned, and I ended up tipping an additional 20%, wasting another $120. The total cost of our meal was $522, which already included the preset gratuity. Since it was a buffet, we didn't really have a dedicated server.

The customer service was exceptional, as they went above and beyond as soon as I reached out directly.

No room decoration only on the tables. They were nice but the room was very, uninviting sterile even.

Apparently this was the first time the Fairmont had done a Thanksgiving buffet, and it was a lovely experience. The food itself was delicious and the hotel overall is a gorgeous place. Made me want to stay there! Getting drink service was a little spotty but that was a minor hiccup.
