Maudie's Cafe - Austin

Although there are several Maudie's locations, this one is definitely my favorite. A special shout-out to my waitress, Amelia. There’s a notable difference between a truly bad server and a good server having a rough day. When I was first served by Amelia, things didn’t go smoothly for her, but the second time, she was back to her usual self. I could see just how overwhelmed she was during that first visit. Please remember to be kind to these hardworking individuals. Take a moment to reflect before writing a review. Some people would have criticized her harshly, but I appreciated the effort I witnessed. I made it a point to return, and she recognized me, which was wonderful. I thanked her for her resilience and determination; she never gave up, even on that difficult day when I visited for the review. Amelia absolutely deserves a raise—she’s fantastic. Keep your head up, Amelia! Not everyone thinks mistakes are unforgivable. You’re incredible and dedicated; keep making people smile! **Vegetarian options:** There are some beans and cheese options available, but those are the main protein sources for vegetarians. **Dietary restrictions:** They can accommodate some requests, but there’s a high chance of cross-contamination. **Parking:** There’s a dedicated parking lot, but if it’s full, be prepared for a long wait—likely over an hour. **Kid-friendliness:** It's family-friendly, as long as the kids enjoy Tex-Mex. **Wheelchair accessibility:** The restaurant is very accessible for those with mobility needs.

Food was yummy. Drinks were okay. Good happy hour specials. Parking: Parking lot seemed a little small during peak times.

Consistently a great option for delicious Tex-Mex cuisine; it's been one of my favorites for years.

Maudie's Cafe is fantastic! I ordered takeout and sampled their breakfast tacos, enchiladas, and sausage migas. Everything was incredibly delicious and fresh. The breakfast tacos were my favorite—full of flavor! The sausage migas were outstanding as well, and the enchiladas were just what I needed. The staff was friendly, and my order was prepared swiftly. I can't wait to return!
