Soto - Austin

I had an excellent experience at Soto on my first visit. I made a reservation and was seated immediately. The hostess was very accommodating when we wanted to change our seating, and we were served right away. We mainly ordered from the happy hour menu, which offered a good variety, although the prices were similar to the regular menu. I must say, their rolls are the best I've ever had; they strike a perfect balance between vegetables and fish. I ended up spending quite a bit, but it was well worth it for a special occasion. I will definitely return!

Wow! What a fantastic experience at this restaurant. Our server, Brian, was incredibly attentive and checked in on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Any concerns we had were addressed right away. We made a reservation for 5 PM, which allowed us to enjoy happy hour as well as explore the regular dining menu if we chose. The food was exquisite, and every dish was a delight. The service was quick, and we hardly had to wait for our food. While the portions were on the smaller side, which we expected, we shared everything among our small group. During happy hour, we especially loved the Tuna Truffle Chili Hamachi. From the standard menu, we tried the Truffle Risotto Uni Pasta (the uni was a bit saltier than expected, but still enjoyable). We will definitely be back! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This was my first visit, and I was pleasantly surprised. Our server was wonderful, guiding us through a sake tasting and helping us explore the unique features of the menu. The quality of the tuna and other appetizers was exceptional. I highly recommend Soto for a romantic evening, a business dinner, or simply a fun night out with foodie friends!

We made reservation for9:15pm and did not get seated till almost 10:00pm. We were disappointed with the fact not being seated within 10 minutes of our reservation times. Once we were seated, we were greeted with a very lovely young lady who is our waitress for the evening. She explained about the menu and recommendations. She gave us plenty of times to choose what we would like to drink and eat. At the end of the evening, waiting for almost 45 minutes for the table was forgotten. Every orders came with beautiful presentation and balance flavors. All the different types of fish we ordered were so fresh, sweet, nice texture, and most importantly no fish smells at all. One of the member of our group never eat raw fish (sashimi or sushi). He was so happy that he joined us for dinner because it was an experience that he wants to come back again. I personally been to best sushi places in Japan and NYC. I definitely will rank Soto as one of the top place. The manager and the head chef came to our table at the end of the meals. That was another wonderful experience that deserve another review the next time we go to Soto.

Soto has an incredible omakase selection that is worth every penny. Katie has been our server each time we have been and she exudes top notice service. Still drooling over these delectable chef selected bites. Perfect for date night or any special occasion...heck...perfect for anytime.
