Tender Thighs - Austin

Everything about this hotel was great except for the building that it’s in. Upon arrival I was so impressed. I saw great content online about the place. Unfortunately it was not the same in real life. We checked in to find those industrial carpet dryers all along the floor we were in. The AC was broken. We had family across the hotel some has to be moved because of mold in their closet. Room service was great. Staff were exceptional. They discounted us for the discomfort of the room but you really can’t make up for an experience like this. You do need reservations to eat at the establishments in the hotel with the exception of the taco shop. Relatives were insulted when we were turned away from the rooftop bar and the place wasn’t full. Strange experience. Won’t be back.

Don’t let the pictures fool you. While they try to portray this hotel as a new swanky hotel, it is not more than a redecorated old property. The noise coming from within and out of the property is terrible. We had to switch rooms twice because of the noise coming from the elevators, which ended up not helping. Coupling the noise with an extremely uncomfortable bed made the entire stay unpleasant and sleepless.

The property is in a decent location for exploring the city. The staff is friendly and upbeat. The lobby is swanky. Then you get to the rooms. Minimal. Not even a bottle of complimentary water. There is a lack of any storage in the room and not even a decent desk to work from. The noise from the street is almost unbearable even on the 10th floor. This property is unfortunately very old and as a result the sound deadening from modern construction is just not there. For the price I would have expected a much nicer room and a quiet place to sleep.

Amazing staff. Love the feel and vibe of this hotel. The location is perfect, very central! And the views are so iconic. P6 is awesome and the pool is super fun. Definitely will be on my list to stay again in the future.
