The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. This is definitely a great place to enjoy a schnitzel sandwich along with a beer. The potato pancakes were good as well.

This is the best food truck we've ever experienced. The German cuisine is fantastic, and there isn't a single disappointing item on the menu. We've become regular customers and absolutely love the chicken schnitzel, pretzel, and potato salad. The food is top-notch, the service is quick, and the owner is a really nice guy! I highly recommend it—10 out of 10!

My partner and I love coming here on the weekends for lunch and a beer, even after moving a little out of austin. The price can be a little high, but its completely worth it for the quality of the food. We love to get a fresh pretzel, some amazing potato salad, and a schnitzelwich; which has juicy chicken schnitzel, red kraut, an amazing aioli, and a freakin pretzel bun! We recently tried the smoked salmon dip and it is also incredible. This is the epitome of austin food trucks, and the person that runs it is so down to earth and super nice.

I like Live Oak a lot, but I LOVE Black Forest. 100% my favorite german food in town. So fresh, so good. The pretzels are great (better than the other popular options in town, imho), the sandwiches are sooo yummy, and I love the pickled veggies. Get the schnitzel sandwich for sure. It's always fresh and high quality. The owners are chill and provide good service. 10 stars.Kid-friendliness: Black Forest and Live Oak are a great spot to let the kids run around and explore while you eat and drink. Great place for the family to relax and hangout.
