Great location and food is good. The wait in the queue is longer than the wait for the food so be ready if you go as a couple to be alone for some of your visit. Sundays are crazy and if there is a large booking they get the big large tables with the view at the front window so the lay out could be better or they could stick them upstairs. The bar staff are friendly and fast but people still try to push in for some strange reason. Back to the ordering of the food which takes the longest I usually queue to order while my other half minds a table and after all that wait when you are trying to enjoy your meal even if you haven't finished your plate it might be whisked away or at least they will try to. I wish after all that wait I could enjoy my meal right to the end. Our favourite meals are the salmon, duck and the younger ones love the burger. We went once at night which was more enjoyable as there were only a few diners so no queue and we were able to thoroughly enjoy our meals. Efficient in so many ways but misses the mark. If there was table service we would frequent more often.
The views from this new development are just stunning – up and down the coast and to the scarp. Definitely worth going, if just to experience that. The plantings and walking trails on the adjoining cliff are also worth exploring. The bistro food is pretty good, albeit a bit expensive. However, I did enjoy the duck thigh with mushroom and pea risotto and would certainly have that again. The whole place is certainly a worthwhile new attraction for the Illawarra.
Decided to stop in on Sunday. Found a nice spot out the back deck facing the water, nice. Found out that it was Smokey Sunday and 5 barrels. So we indulged the idea and had smokey plate and 5 barrels hoppy amber. Great choice and could not have asked for anything better. The place is buzzing, the food was great and the location is awesome.Highly recommend it.
Arrived at 7.20pm on a Saturday night & happy to take the table outside as the outdoor heaters were quite effective & the meal was nice. At 8.50pm we are ready for a coffee @ considering desert. Bistro service finished at 8.30pm apparently so sign on the counter says see the bar staff for snacks. Ask the bar staff, can we order a coffee please? Oh, see the bistro round the corner, they won't have turned off the coffee machine yet! Ok, go to the counter @ watch a dozen people cleaning up all look at me like 'how dumb is this one, can't she see the sign??' Politely explain the message from the bar & any chance the coffee machine is still on? Filthy look of 'you can't be serious?? We're closed !' Ironic that the massive sign above her head says 'COFFEE'. Not rushing back!!
