Some of these reviews are of places nearby, not Latifah's. There are no tacos or pizzas (she serves fish and eggs, but no meat). The food is not amazing, it is just made from love by Latifah, the heart and soul of this place. She is the cook, waitress and cleaner...and she loves her customers. She speaks only darija the Moroccan Arabic. Someone says you need French to communicate with her. Don't be fooled by the liberal use of bonjour, merci, c'est va ...she does not speak French beyond the fact that darija includes a lot of French. The harira is okay and better than many. I especially liked the plump butterflied and fried sardines. The eggplant slices are overcooked (grilled), but juicy and satisfying. She also has potato fritters, grilled peppers and boiled eggs. Also, bowls of lentils or white beans (if she doesn't offer it, ask for harissa to spice up the alubias, as they are barely seasoned). All come with a basket of bread. You can easily fill up for less than 20MAD. All is simple and inexpensive. The eggplant, sardines, potatoes, boiled eggs, etc. are sold by the piece (mostly 1 2 durhams), so you can order as little or as much as you like. I've eaten there twice so far and she already greets me French style with 3 cheek kisses and her regulars (locals) offer me their telephone numbers in case I need help (I don't speak Arabic) and ply me with dates, etc. Like me, I suspect they are there because of Latifah. Vegetarian options: Fish and eggs, but no meat. There are good vegetarian protein sources with alubia (white beans), lentils and the harira includes some garbanzos. For those that eat eggs there is a choice of boiled or fried. I haven't eaten it but she has a tomato salad, as well as, potatoes, eggplant, roasted peppers, etc. to get your veggies. Latifa is a kind lady who served us well even with limited language in common. Her prices are incredibly affordable, and her food is fresh and healthy. Her fried eggplants may be a little over cooked for some, but her fried sardines are some of the most exquisite I've had. Her soup is heartwarming and tastes like home. Would highly recommend Latifa's for anyone looking for an authentic moroccan meal. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: MAD 1–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
