Auberge du Cheval Blanc - Avallon

We were late on our trip to pass the evening in this charming restaurant. the menu, eating the service was exactly what we needed after a laborious experience on the autobahn through france on the way to northern Italy.

After walking from our Hotel (Dak' Hotel and passing through a completely dead and boarded up town, we arrived at this restaurant. The waiter didn't say a single word from we walked in until we walked out after eating it was probably due to...him not speaking any English. We ate a mediocre meal with steaks that was clearly frozen meat of questionable quality and frozen vegetables quite odd as we passed thousands of cows and farms in this rural area :

Had a lovely meal at the restaurant and the food was good. However, the waitress seemed bad tempered and unhelpful which coloured our view of the meal and restaurant.

Excellent dinner! service was fast and eat very fresh and authentic. my daughter said she was glad we were here. worth the night!

After we drove 1000 km, we made the pretty stupid mistake to think we could go for a Sunday in the next season. so a few jouren later we drove after our final option, the macd in avalon (how desperate can be on...be . seeking photo theo yellowstone m we noticed a 'normal' restaurant that 't closed! the it turns out that it is the cheval. on the plus side the servierdame was really nice and gave her best picture, friendly but not too lazy. Entourage is nice, but maybe a little 'tourist-trap-ish', the dood is okay. wein, even if the glass is served open on the table, we had a very nice chablis. all in all, not bad, but not extreme nest. prices and experience as a whole are in order, but for a great night with great eating, there are others / better!
