We ate outside in the shade of the beautiful trees that line the canal in this part of town. The waiter was very busy but did a great job attending to all the tables. The menu was a blackboard that was brought alongside the table. It was simple with about three specials from which to choose. We ordered the fish dish and the pasta dish and they both were delicious! For added entertainment, go inside to see the eclectic and slightly irreverent decor.
My wife and I had a fantastic dinner at L'ubu. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The menu is very small, only a couple of dishes to choose from for entree, main course and dessert but the food was superb. The restaurant seems to pride itself on serving dishes with the freshest produce together with wines that are all organic (our wine was also excellent). After the main course I was debating whether to have the chocolate cake or cheesecake for dessert and my wife said she was too full for dessert. I chose the chocolate cake. Then the owner brought both and said the cheesecake was a present so that we could try both. A lovely touch at the end of a wonderful dinner. And to top it off the meal was very reasonably priced.
Poor food and poor service not sure sure what else to say. The person who runs the restaurant seems grumpy and rude which would have been fine had the food been actually good but it wasn't - so overall, terrible experience.
Went with a friend last summer. Smallish space with funky art and a really modern, fusion menu. I had marinated crispy pork on a bed of black rice. I'd go again.
