Sweet potato fries are out of the world and vinaigrette dressing is made with propagate juice and something else and was GREAT. Vegan options here are fries and salad
Meal offered: quinoa burger This is a famous sandwich shop featured in country-wide reviews as having the best burgers in the country. I took a meat eater there who didn’t agree, BUT my quinoa sandwich was ~most excellent~. Probably one of my favorite vegan sandwiches ever. It’s not labeled as vegan but it does not come covered in cheese or mayo sauce (at least when I had it) which is great to not have to make any subs. Overall there’s not a lot of great food spots for vegans in the OBX, but I made a point to upload this one to help the visiting veggies navigate the area.
I wouldn't recommend this place unless you're absolutely out of options. It might be best to remove this listing altogether. Updated from my previous review on August 23, 2023.
The quinoa burger is held together with cheese and eggs. I ordered it thinking it was vegan after reading another review, but it wasn't. It wasn't that impressive either. The sweet potato fries were decent, and the vinaigrette dressing, made with pomegranate juice and something else, was really good. The vegan options here are limited to fries and salad.
I recently visited a renowned sandwich shop that has received widespread acclaim for having some of the best burgers in the country. I brought along a meat-eater who was a bit skeptical, but I opted for the quinoa burger, and it was absolutely fantastic! It might just be one of my favorite vegan sandwiches ever. Although it isn't labeled as vegan, the sandwich comes without cheese or mayo (at least mine did), which I appreciated since it avoids any confusion about its ingredients. Overall, there aren't many great dining options for vegans in the Outer Banks, but I wanted to share my experience to help fellow plant-based eaters find their way.
