Carlin's - Ayer

The food was tasty, but something strange happened when we asked for more salsa with our order. I could hear the cook yelling at the waitress about it. She eventually came over to let us know they were out of salsa, which is hard to understand, considering tortilla chips are one of their few appetizers. Since the salsa is homemade, maybe they ran out of tomatoes? Regardless, I don't appreciate the way the cook treated the waitress.

This isn't the old Carlin's. They have a decent menu, craft beers, and friendly staff. Since they've reopened, they've gone to great lengths to make it a respectable place, and it's working. The food is great, the menu, although limited, has some great items, the place is clean and the staff friendly.

Let's be honest here. Business sucks right now. Place used to be packed even though it was considered a borderline sketchy place. Here's the secret.. change the name.. boom problems solved

We stopped by Carlin's this Sunday to check it out for the first time as they had a Mighty Squirrel beer on tap we've been dying to check out. I can't believe we hadn't been in here before! They have 23 taps, we tried a beer from Barreled Souls and one from Mighty Squirrel, which were both fantastic. The food was also typical craft pub food, aka, pretty dang good and creative. I had the Cuban and it was spot on. The server was so friendly and down to earth. He even brought a little side of a few fries to break up for the little tyke. Such a nice experience. Can't say enough good things.

Really great beer menu, wings were lauded by my group and Brussels sprouts appetizer was perfectly cooked and delicious. They have a delicious scotch egg and charcuterie plate too. Nice interior, super nice staff and they are helpful too!
