Burdekin Chinese Seafood Restaurant

Not had a bad meal here. Though they could do with competition. Can only compare with the Chinese I frequented back in the UK and this is not quite as good, much more expensive and has less than 50% of the selection on offer. The buffet they offered was quite ok price-wise. We went there with group of friends and everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Basic chinese restaurant that serves the Australian version of Chinese Food. Everything in batter and very little else. Food and drink prices were good, staff pleasant, but in opinion the food just wasn't up to scratch. The fried rice we had wasn't cooked sufficiently and hard to chew. We were just passing through at this time but don't think I would make the effort to go out of my way to dine here again. In fairness it also appeared that a lot of the customers were elderly locals who frequented this place and obviously enjoyed the food.

When we want Chinese in Ayr, we always go to the Ayr Chinese Restaurant. We decided once to venture off to this restaurant instead, as it looks the part, all done up in Chinese decorations. Well, never again unfortunately - the food was simply horrible. I've never actually seen my wife turn down her Mongolian Lamb before, but she did on this occasion. My meal wasn't much better - it all looked nice, but just tasted horrible. I'm sorry, but I guess there's a reason why I've never seen anyone eating here, but the Ayr Chinese Restaurant by comparison always seems to draw good patronage. Don't be fooled by the traditional decor - the main reason why you want Chinese is the food, and it was simply a let down all over.

Great service, wonderful meals, very cheap. would highly recommend.
