Somewhat surprised by some of the reviews. We have eaten here on several occasions now and the pad thai and drunken noodles are always quite good!
I usually enjoy all kinds of noodles, but I was disappointed by the pad thai at Chili Basil Thai. The dish was unimpressive, with overly sweet seasoning and a lack of the usual tanginess that I expect from pad thai.
Chili Basil is my go-to restaurant in Sudbury. The food is consistently delicious and the service is fast and attentive (they also easily cater to dietary restrictions). I have introduced many of my family and friends to this spot over the years, and they have all been impressed. Make sure to order the Pad Thai! While it is a popular takeout option, dining in at the restaurant is a lovely experience with a peaceful atmosphere. I highly recommend trying it out.
Visiting Sudbury, wanted to try a Thai restaurant. So, went to Chili Basil Thai fooled by the good reviews here! Mistake. Ordered the tofu Pad Thai and tofu red curry. The tofu Pad Thai was a watery mess of beige sauce, limp noodles, and a few wilted bean sprouts, with deep fried tofu added. No garnish, no slice of lime, nothing to make the dish appetizing. The tofu red curry we had to send back to the kitchen, because the eggplant in it was raw. OK to have al dente green beans and bell peppers, but not raw eggplant. On the plus side, the server was very friendly.
