Altes Brauhaus Bad Hersfeld

Been here with friends for dinner. Really surprised although we knew from Tripadvisor that is shall be pretty good. The waiter was very friendly, gave us lots of tips and had great recommendations. The beer was a dream - the Altbierbowle and the wheat / Hefeweizen in particular. All our meals were great, nothing to complain about. In a nutshell: go there when you are in Bad Hersfeld.

Next to the romantic hotel (same owner) this was my absolute favorite in bad hersfeld. the best traditional German kitchen, good home and nice staff. Unfortunately, it is now closed, which is a big scandal.

This is a cozy restaurant in the historical environment of a former brewery opposite the church. there are 2 dining rooms on the right and left of the entrance. there is space for parties and regular customers. it is furnished in rustic style...with lots of wood cladding. they call it urig' in german (natural and unrefined.) it seemed a lot of action with people happy drink beer and was very crowded. a reservation would be a good idea...The service was very friendly and eating extremely healthy and good-bodied' (solid medium) and serving huge!!! it is German comfort food. in two different locations we had leberkaese', hacksteak (salisbury steak) , pork cheeks (pork cheeks) and strammer max (brot with sink and iron.) I was surprised to see that big dogs can come and lie at the foot of the table. the restaurant seemed to be popular with the creators and shakers of the small town, as the master of the citizen had also eaten there. years ago they were also open for lunch, but now only opened at 17 o'clock. beautiful place, loud and original.
