Blond haired lady), who spoke no English (apparently), offered us a temporary seat at...the pizza preparation area, where we watched the chefs spin the dough! The owner/manager appeared after minutes and indicated that he would get us a table in the main restaurant soon (thank you so we ordered some drinks. We were seated within minutes and the blond-haired waitress appeared to take our order. I ordered Spaghetti Puttanesca, and she repeated the order back with some hilarity (her pronounciation was exactly the same as mine, so I fail to see the joke which amused the couple sat next to us (some private joke, or was she suggesting I was calling her a tart I then ordered the Pizza Casa, and again, she repeated it back using the same pronounciation, as if I spoke Martian (neither of the items were pronounced with a German lilt, they were pronounced as would an Italian). Our food was served within minutes, and unfortunately, due to my error (assuming a house pizza which includes the words allem and fisch would include fish, though I had failed to notice the ohne in between, so "everything but the fish!" The exact opposite of what my wife wanted my wife couldn't eat her pizza, so we swapped and I ate the lot. An enormous pizza including ham, salami, very mild pickled chilli peppers, mushrooms, artichokes and cheese ham. I wasn't offered any chilli oil, nor did the waitress enquire if our food was OK. When we finished, we waited patiently for the waitress to appear, but she was in deep conversation with (I presume a local couple behind us. After a while, I turned, caught her eye, and indicated I needed the check. She acknowledged, indicated one moment, and carried on her conversation for another good minutes or more before I asked the same of the manager/owner, who brought the check immediately! The lady in question appears to have a problem with English people? Or was it just us? I don't know? The food was actually pretty good, but with such appalling service, I cannot offer any more than star. Sorry! P.S Lady I would have sacked you a long time ago if you were my employee, and if you were my wife, you would get a good telling off
We ate at this Italian Pizza restaurant based on positive online reviews and its proximity to our hotel (literally across the road). You would never know this restaurant is here unless you're staying nearby as it's on a quiet side street. My partner and I...both had vegetarian pizzas, which had plenty of mediterranean vegetables but a bit too much cheese for my liking. The base was thin and crispy and felt authentically Italian. We ordered a large bottle of still water to share, but were brought fizzy water as this is all they had; the bottle was open before we could refuse. The pizzas took a while to arrive at the table, but were clearly cooked fresh and to order
This restaurant is next door to the bed and breakfast, hotel landhaus iris. We arrive from the states and were tired and hungry. We walked next to get lunch and they didn't open until The owner invited us to stay and have a drink....She prepared and antipasto type salad with garlic pita as her daily bread shipment wasn't in yet. Tomatoes and mozzarella were super fresh...grilled eggplant...yummy She went out of her way to communicate with us in German and Italian. We returned two nights later to experience the real deal and it was! My husband had pizza with mushrooms and peppercini peppers....thin and crispy as we asked. I had tomatoes, cheese and artichokes. Salads and bread were authentic Italian! (I grew up Italian near NY and I am a tough critic I highly recommend. This place for more than pizza based on the meals I saw. They are busy with lots of locals
Was heerlijk.
Also kein großer Aufwand!
