Sotavent - Badalona

We have been coming here for years and always enjoy the food, the service, and the view. During the week there is a good menu del dia with great choices and good value for the quality and a quantity of the food you get. On weekends it can get a bit pricey, they have no menu del dia so you order a la cart, but still good quality/ price balance. One of the very few restaurants in Badalona right on the beach with a view if the ocean an elegant setup, and professional service.

On a Friday afternoon we were on our way home from Barcelona and were looking for a restaurant at the coast. Eventually we ended up in restaurant Sota Vent in Platja de Caldetes. On the beach a lovely terrace with beautiful sea views. No menu but a la Cart. In addition to the rich choice on the menu, they also offer fried fish, freshly caught. We choose a salad with salmon, breaded squid rings and as a main course a hamburger with cheese and a baked fish with potatoes and vegetables for 2 people. Everything tastes delicious, the raw marinated salmon, the squid rings with a thin crunchy jacket and great taste. The hamburger with a fine structure and medium fried and cheddar on top of it. The fish was delicious as well as the potato slices. That together with a nice white wine made everything complete. We ended with a coffee. The service is fine, too bad that I have to ask twice for allioli. Lovely location in the Club Natacio in Badalona. Lots of glass walls giving great views while you eat and a terrace (which only seems to be open for food at the weekend). Superb salad, navajas, chipirones and whitebait.

Muy buen trato, la comida esta excelente y sale económica con el menú de entre semana! Lo recomiendo

Es el mejor lugar para hacer el vermut de Badalona!
