Feedback gevenJoined friends for a birthday supper. Absolutely delightful! Charming Italian restaurant. Very cozy and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the fire place near our table. The basil gnocchi was amazing! Hard to share a bite with a friend. The chef, Clara explained each dish in great details and her husband explained each bottle of wine. Just a pleasure to meet them both! Wine perfectly paired with each dish. PS DO NOT MISS the Dessert! Excellent!
I spent last Saturday evening at La Pavona, a cosy restaurant located in Bagnolo San Vito. I write this opinion in English because this place might be of some interest also for foreigners who decide to spend an afternoon at Fashion District: the restaurant is maybe 5 minutes away. First of all: reservation is unavoidable, since chef Clara does not have a freezer: she buys stuff everyday, depending on the number of persons she is expecting to have for dinner. There is no menu you can choose from: every 4 5 weeks Clara creates a tasting menu with a starter, two courses (one pasta or rice, one meat or fish and a dessert. So if you have any special request, such as being vegetarian or food intolerances, you 'd better tell in advance. To give you an idea of what I ate Saturday, this was the menu (of course the food description was nicer but I can 't remember the exact words... cream of fennel with poppy seeds tagliatelle with leek and soft cheese with crispy bacon knuckle of veal with broccoli orange and cinnamon ice cream Clara suggested a sparkling wine and I chose a rosé from the list, and it was really good. The final bill was 223 € for 5 menus, 3 bottles of water, a bottle of wine, 4 (very good coffees and a liquor. Clara and her husband spent all their time either cooking (of course or talking with clients. They are very nice people and make you feel at home. Their happy ending choice to change their lives and open this restaurant is very reassuring for anyone who sometimes thinks to do the same. So, why 4 and not 5? It is about the food and it is more a boost to chef Clara than a criticism: Clara, you should be bolder! The starter was great, and the rest was absolutely fine, nothing to complain; but you should aim to be unforgettable, not just fine. For example my family was very happy with dinner but said tagliatelle missed some salt: I don 't think so, but maybe there is some herb or spice that may give a special flavour to them. Which herb, which spice? I do not know, but I am sure that chef Clara does!
I LOVE Pavona sul Sofa' and can't wait to go back to Italy so I can return to this charming restaurant in Bagnolo San Vito. The food is delicious handmade with the best ingredients. With a cozy atmosphere (a fireplace and a large window overlooking the country side) and a couple that make you feel like a valued guest in their home, what more can you ask for? If you're living or traveling in Italy, go out of your way to spend some time at Pavona sul Sofa'.
Definitely gourmet dinner. selected dishes and very cared for a cellar provided and very rich but I am sincere I would return there not only to eat the refined dishes, but to enjoy the pleasant but incisive presence of the hostess both as chef and sommelier, absolutely prepared and not less with a sensitive lover of the soul of the animals, all in a bucolic context that relaxes you, in practice clarauso zani chef a river in full woman never
