Booth's Cafe - Bairnsdale

I would certainly recommend Booth's Café for a tasty lunch. Wow, the wholemeal salad sandwiches were the best value.

I had heard good things about this cafe,but what a disappointment.My partner and I ordered a sweet chilli chicken wrap which came out soggy and we were unable to eat due to everything falling out,and the chips were undercooked and still hard in the middle.

I always enjoy a quick bite to eat and either a coffee or milkshake here. The staff are always friendly and helpful and the proceeds go to a good cause. The food is always fresh and the place is always clean. It's a good place to meet for an informal meeting with friends/colleagues. Their Devonshire teas are great too!! The prices are reasonable too.

Adjoined to the Salvation Army Community Store in Bairnsdale, Booth's Cafe is a Very Nice Eatery with Delicious Hot Meals, Cakes and Nice Warm Drinks, Plus Delicious Milkshakes!!

For the amount of talking up this place does, it is no wonder it was a grand disappointment when I finally tried their food. The manager would not stop boasting about her pies to the point I was expecting restaurant quality. The pie was okay at most, that is if the gravy inside was not a lumpy mess. I assumed it was a steak and kidney pie but what met my pallet was a disgusting lump of blubbery gravy, with a few chunks of dry, chewy and tough steak. If the manager were more humble, I'd have given a better score. Aside from that, the staff burned my coffee, which was no better than instant. If you have high expectations, do not visit this place. The prices match that of an actual cafe. But an actual cafe would provide better service :Thumbs DOWN
