Fast summary large eating, ambiente and service. the best steaks in bakersfield! try to get street parkings to the opposite; the go next to the restaurant is a paid amount of eat- 5 stars escargot- this was decent. I would order another appetizer in the future ribeye- that was divine. the steak was so tender, juicy and fat. the baked potato and caesar salad together with him ordered, and they were also very delicious. my Go-to Steak order filet- that was also very delicious. I am in the regular a fan of fattier cuts (e.g. ribeyes,) but this filet was very juicy and delicate rack of lamb- this was also perfectly cooked. they even lollipopt the lamb on request. very good veal- that was also perfectly cooked. I am in the usually not a big fan of calf meat, but the taste and tenderness was great here dessert - we tried all 3 of their house desserts. the cheesecake was standard, but the other 2 desserts (malva pudding and South African kap dutch) were very good and I recommend it very well. they had melted butter, the big drinks- 5 stars we tried the manhatten and Apple-tini and they were very delicious. the drinks are strong here and I like it that they ask for their spiritual brand here service- 5 stars the service was consistently solid. our server was friendly and attentive and the owner/cook greeted us at the end of the meal. Great experience in ambiance- 5 stars it is an interesting vintage-steakhouse vibe in a gasse (e.g. saw it really ghetto from the outside, but turned into a stylish steakhouse when it entered). very enjoyed the playlist in the background as well as bottom line great eating, drinks and service. the ribeye was the most unforgettable court of the night, they try to sneak here early or late free street parking!
This restaurant is the best in bakersfield and one of the best I have eaten. we celebrated the holiday with the parents of my wife, her sister and her husband. I had the lamming frame and the others had different steaks; new york and fillets. everything was excellent. the cocktails were great (old fashion and wine). my father-in-law is 92 and on oxygen, the personal took their time to help him in the table and to secure his oxygen tank. this is an interesting restaurant in which the entrance in a street and in the ground unmaked, art like a speech-easy . you will find the red door and its pure! also thanks to the owner/chef and the entire staff for a great evening. I apologise for not remembering the names of all those who made us so big. I live in la, but we're planning to make the trip to my next birthday.
I was looking for a nice steak and found something that far exceeded my expectations. if they ever get the chance to dinate at the horse in the alley, they will not be disappointed. the personal is fanominal. that was great. the drinks are top notch. the bar was as fantastic as she was foxy. Thanks to michigan <3 ;0)
A true steakhouse experience, just like the old days. Came to town with no particular plan but the highlight of the trip was a visit to the Horse in the Alley! Saw the reviews and said, I got to check this out. Well, it is better than the amazing reviews. We arrived early and the helpful bartender got us a drink and had us sit down for the 45 seconds until our server Gill invited us to our table. Great ambiance in the main room! Quickly the real action took place. Gill demonstrated what a true professional server can do in the right environment. His attentive service and attention to detail were only part of the experience. He let us into his world and showed us how he learned his craft. After the delivery of our most amazing food (truly out of this world) we were greeted by the owner and chef who wanted our honest feedback and ideas for an even better experience. I guess he listened to all his previous customers because we had no one suggestion as to how to better this amazing experience. In a 1-10 scale I would give it a 15! Highly recommended!!! Will be your best memory of Bakersfield if you are passing through.
