Red Lobster - Bakersfield

I visited Red Lobster seeking some nostalgia after many years away, and I found that the menu and flavors of the food have hardly changed—perhaps that's a good thing. The service was prompt, and our dishes arrived quickly. However, the highlight of the evening was definitely the dessert. I found the Long Island Iced Tea to be a bit lacking, though.

As of July 2022, the service at this restaurant still needs improvement. Unfortunately, the food was just mediocre this time around. The service could have been better if the busboy had approached our table and clarified that our server was assigned incorrectly. We waited about 15 minutes just to receive our drinks. On the positive side, the food was fantastic, as expected. The chicken Alfredo was served piping hot, and the flavors were incredible—it's hard to go wrong with chicken Alfredo. However, I do have to wonder why the lighting is so dim.

Red Lobster is one of those chain restaurants that excels at certain dishes while others fall short. I particularly enjoy their soup, salad, and cookies for a quick lunch. However, many menu items, such as the rice and steak, can taste bland or as if they've been microwaved. The service at this location also seems to be lacking; we often encounter issues, especially during lunchtime when there seem to be the fewest waitstaff available. Overall, if you know what to expect, it's a decent spot for a meal—just don't anticipate exceptional service.

Absolutely phenomenal food and service. Juan Carlos was our waiter and he was amazing in service and very attentive. The food was phenomenal. The seafood plate was great. We have two different seafood plates so that we can taste both pieces of everything. The appetizers were great. The bread was great. Everything was worth 5 stars. $200 at dinner and evey penny worth it. Will always return. The only thing I wished if they were more on the wines than those I had originally chosen, but our drinks were well served.

Good food, as usual when we go here. Wasn't disappointed in the slightest! Excellent wait staff. Everything was perfect!
