Umi Sushi Sake - Bakersfield

I always have a great meal when I get to this restaurant. The staff is friendly and courteous, and the food is great. The atmosphere is perfect for a quiet conversation, for group pleasure or for a solo seat reading of a book. Just a great place.

Some of the worst sushi I've had in a while. Salmon didnt taste sushi grade and had a gray-ish hue. The other rolls were covered in spicy mayo after requesting no sauce. No accountability and no call back from management. Spent $75 on a dinner I couldn't eat. They also dont supply ginger or wasabi, so there was no disguising how bad the sushi was. Don't waste money here.

The food and Service is amazing here. we definitely found a new spot. the interior is beautiful and very spacious. went as a family of 4 2 Adults a 5 yr old and a 1 month old and we sat comfortably. 10 out 10 highly recommend

My first time at Umi, travelled from LA to visit relatives in Bakersfield. Highly recommended! Great ambiance, reasonably priced for high quality sea food. Servers are nice. Facility is super clean. Loved their sushi and salad dressing is to die for. Umi levels up with the top Japanese restaurant in LA that I've been to. It deserves more than 5 stars.

This place was fantastic! Clean and very open with plenty of seating. I will be bring my family here many more times because the menu is huge and there are several more rolls I want to try. Good sushi costs and like I said the place was fantastic but its not so expensive that this place has to be relegated to special occasions only. I will need to check for a happy hour or lunch special. The spoon of green stuff is real wasabi and not green horse radish paste. There is a small up charge for them to bring out the real stuff and I thought it was quite good. Get yourselves in here and have a wonderful meal.
