The pizza was very good but the lasagne we suspect had been microwaved very hot on the outside and cold in the middle. Two large dogs sat right by our table throughout expecting scraps which was not very nice and no one tried to move them on. We tried but failed. Reasonably priced but not for us I’m afraid. Probably better suited to families with young children as there is a play park next door.
This place really should be avoided. The situation is nice but standard or food is poor . I found my kebab meat inedible- not sure what they did to it . Tried to complain but the staff very disinterested.
We've eaten at La Feniere twice in the past week, and will probably eat there at least once more before we leave Balazuc. It's a great little restaurant. They offer a pretty broad menu for a small place pizza, burgers, and crepes, but also more upscale fare. Last night I had the Caillette Ardechoise, which is a kind of meatloaf like dish which is special to this area. It's really good, but hard to describe. It came with roasted potatoes, which were excellent side. The lasagne and burgers are really good as well. The Crepe with pear ice cream and chocolate is particularly awesome ... I might even have that again.
I 'm not one of those people that whinges about everything. I have high standards but I also am willing to have average food at a cheap price point. This food wasn 't overpriced by any means but the quality was absolutely abhorrent. I ordered a chicken caesar salad, possibly the simplest dish to make well. What was served to me was chicken that without a doubt was a few days old or of the most sub-par quality. I understand cooking chicken that day and serving it cold in the salad, shredded up. Instead I was served chicken connected to the gelatinous fat that it had clearly been sitting in for at least a few days. Regardless of getting bits of gelatine in my mouth, the chicken tasted OLD . Didn 't get sick but why would someone pay to eat out when the food isn 't fresh? Get your standards up because most people know the difference. Partners pasta in a cream sauce was actually pasta in a thick mountain of melted cheese (and not the good kind). Absolutely shocking for a french establishment in a rural area where the food is normally very appreciated.
We had a familiy dinner at la Ferniere. Great welcome and athmosphere thanks to WIlliam (do ask him about seeing his pagoda after dinner). We had simple food (salad, grilled meat, cheese, deserts) all came out from Kitchen really fast and was of good quality. Service is also very nice. will visit again
