I stayed in Balestrino for a couple of weeks and every day the fixed stage was Il Dolce Castello, a friendly, familiar place and with a great gastronomic choice. Here you can find a great deal of food: bread, pizzas, focacce, grissini, cakes, custom cakes, pastries (fantastic especially those on pistachio), biscuits, brioche and much more. All the professionalism and passion they have, you can taste it in their preparations. Recommended!! !

This pastry-drogheria-bar is located in Balestrino, behind Albenga, in an area rich in woods (in turn rich in mushrooms... and in a village known for the castle of the XVI century (at whose feet there is an ancient abandoned village. Every time we walk around here, we stop for a coffee and buy pasta or cakes made in the local area. They feel passion, professionalism and taste. NIente di extravagante: instead pure excellent desserts of tradition (bignè, cavolini, biscuits and cakes with jam, custom cakes . But we also recommend the bread with good old taste and the grissini made with the oil produced by the owners. Not to be missed.

We stopped for breakfast attracted by the perfume from the laboratory next to the bar. Good coffee, fresh brioches of own production, contained prices. I bought a typical bread of the fisherman to give: it is soft, rich, fragrant, little sweet (as it must be) but tasty. It is worth climbing from the sea, only 1/4 minutes from Borghetto.
