Lir - Ballaghaderreen

We live in the area and decided to have dinner at this restaurant. We chose to dine in the bar/brasserie section. There are tables next to a glass partition with a ledge. Unfortunately, there was dust on the ledge and skirting, which was surprising for a four-star establishment. The staff were polite and friendly. I ordered the seafood chowder, which was delicious but a bit salty. The portion size was smaller than expected, and only one small piece of brown bread was served. For our main course, we both had the house curry with chicken (€2.50 extra for the chicken), which was very flavorful. The service was decent, but for a four-star restaurant, one would expect more attention to detail.

My group of four friends from Canada met up with friends from Loughrea at this restaurant. The ambiance was fantastic, the service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely delicious!

Great selection of dishes at affordable prices. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a charming atmosphere.

We went to the restaurant for lunch the other day. We were disappointed by the limited menu options and found that most of the meals were lacking in flavor. However, the waiters were friendly and attentive.
