Feedback gevenThe restaurant offers fantastic coffee, delicious food, and excellent service. I would rate it 10 out of 10.
If you are looking for traditional country town food at a reasonable price then you will like this place. I had a standard pasta dish that was good solid food without being spectacular. Decor is also traditional.
I had a pleasant focaccia and coffee at this buzzing little cafe. Food was well prepared and service was satisfactory. The menu was fairly standard, and few things really tempted or excited me. What was there was fairly pricey for what it was! That said I could not fault what I had and its busy status reflects a loyal clientelle. However compared to The Unicorn, Cafe De Oro lags way behind the adventurous menu and ambience!
Ballarat has significantly improved its dining options with many establishments offering meals at prices similar to those found in Melbourne. Feeling uninspired, I discovered Cafe De Oro and was pleasantly surprised by its menu of regular, hearty dishes at reasonable prices. The cafe serves all day breakfast, a characteristic I believe signifies a good establishment. I ordered a vegie burger with chips and extras like beetroot chutney, along with a pot of tea for under $20. The service was friendly, the cafe was clean, and the food was delicious. I will definitely make Cafe De Oro my first stop next time I visit Ballarat.
The service is good, the coffee is excellent, and the restaurant is bustling. The steak sandwich is absolutely delicious and the coffee is always top-notch. Service is fantastic and the restaurant is consistently busy.
