Feedback gevenThis restaurant is very diligent when it comes to following food safety regulations and ensuring that their staff are well-trained. Their professionalism is evident in the outstanding service they provide with a smile, no matter the situation. The baristas are skilled at making great cups of coffee, which we enjoyed each morning for breakfast. We appreciated the labels on their hotcakes indicating what they were and when they were made. This practice should be adopted by all McDonald's restaurants to avoid any unnecessary issues. In Melbourne, this is not common but should be implemented.
I was really disappointed when I visited this restaurant for lunch with my elderly mom. We waited to be served and then waited a few more minutes for our food (which ended up being cold by the time it arrived). We also had to wait for the coffee, which was lukewarm by the time we got it. Despite the nice interior of the restaurant, the service was lacking. The guy making our coffee seemed really stressed and was yelling for help, making it a less than enjoyable experience. It's a shame because the restaurant looks nice, but the service definitely needs improvement.
In a rush for a quick meal recently, with a meeting coming up in 15 minutes, I decided to stop by MacDonald's on Howitt St in Wendouree. The restaurant was bustling with families and seniors looking for a fast, affordable meal. I opted for an Aussie Burger, made with Angus beef, beetroot, lettuce, tomato, and tomato sauce on a bun. The chips were average, or should I say 'fries', and the coffee was below par. The meal reminded me of past experiences at other MacDonald's locations. I couldn't help but wish I had taken a few extra minutes to go to Red Bird Cafe down the street. If you enjoy MacDonald's food and ambiance, you won't be disappointed. However, if like me, you value a clean restroom as much as your meal, you will also be satisfied. Personally, I prefer the hamburgers at the Ballarat Hamburger Cart, a local favorite with roots dating back to the First World War. They serve traditional hamburgers on standard buns, a welcome change from MacDonald's sugary rolls.
I'm a bit surprised I'm reviewing McDonald's of all places on Yelp, but this one is worth pointing toAs a disclaimer, I did NOT try the food here.
In a hurry for a quick bite recently, with an appointment looming within 15 minutes, I ventured inside the Howitt St Wendouree MacDonald's.The placed thronged with people. Famillies and the elderly in search of quick, cheap, reliable fare.I ordered an "Aussie Burger". Angus beef and beetroot, lettuce, tomato and tomato sauce between a polystyrene-esque bun. The bread you eat when you are not eating bread. Chips were fine, sorry, I mean't fries, and the standard coffee was less than standard. The meal reminded me of those I've eaten at other MacDonald's. I wondered why I didn't take just a few minutes longer and headed to Red Bird Cafe up the street. If you are into MacDonald's food and decor you will not be disappointed! If, as I did you wanted a clean "bathroom" as much as anything to eat, you will not be disappointed either.I may not particularly enjoy Macca's, but thousands of others do. I still think that the Ballarat Hamburger Cart, does the very best hamburgers in town and is a Ballarat institution, founded by Americans stationed here during the First World War. They wanted great traditional hamburgers and the Hamburger Cart, even serves them in standard, rather than MacDonald's style sugary rolls!
