However, the wedge salad was really good. The waitress was beautiful, but inexperienced. I preferred this place because they had a better selection of sandwiches and appetizers, rather than expensive $28 dinners.
This restaurant has a diverse history. It appears to be a traditional diner from the outside, but it was once known as one of the top French restaurants in the capital district. Over time, it has undergone several changes, and now it is trying to appeal to a wider audience. My wife and I went there with some friends for dinner recently. We initially sat in the front room, but had to move to a back room because the sun was shining directly on our table through the window. Although the table in the back room was more comfortable, we found the food to be only mediocre. We all agreed that this place would not be one of our go-to spots for dinner.
This restaurant showed me the true potential of balsamic drizzle and how it can differ from just being a dressing. Don't judge a book by its cover - this place is not your typical small, dark restaurant!
1940's diner vibe with a full bar. here they eat in mad men
First visit on Saturday Feb 5. Spectacular atmosphere in the old school diner! The entire staff was cordial and overly (in a good way) friendly. Food was outstanding. I would highly recommend the Dunning Street Station.
