Although they offer Halibut and it is a more expensive fish, their cod is excellent and is less expensive. Also, if you like New England style clam chowder and you don't get a bowl here you are missing out on one of the best I have eaten in my 60+ years. Overflowing with clams, bacon, potatoes and corn in a thick creamy base... wow!Enjoy!
The reviews I do not agree with all of them. We went for dinner at 5 yesterday. We placed our order,15 min.later the power went out. The waitress came around and told some tables could have their fish but no fries, substitute for a salad, or did not have to take are order. The waitress was rude because I didn't want mine she brought it out anyways and said that they would have to throw it out anyways. We did not receive any type of discount and when we received the bill she still changed for the fish I did not order. I ask for another glass of water she look miserable about it, brought me back warm water with no ice this time. Prices to high for the food. Fish was not hot they let it sit out for 10 min.wondering if the power went back on. Cherry cheese cake was good.Would not go back.
I was a little concerned with I noticed the "For Sale Sign" on the building but the restaurant is still open & functional. We had the Haddock fish & chips. The french fries are made from real potatoes and were crispy & very good. We shared a bowl of coleslaw which was creamy & good as well. We also tried the tartar sauce made in-house instead of the package available on the table. It was a nice meal. The restaurant is across the street from some awesome cliffs. Great backdrop!!
Stopped for lunch with my wife and split a large halibut and chips. Portions were generous, cost was reasonable and most importantly, the food was great. Chips were very hot and crisp and the fish was delicious. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
This is our fourth visit for lunch here. As usual both the halibut and chips were delicious! We also got the smelts, very fishy, but good. The clam chowder is claimed to be maybe the best you've had.....I have to disagree. It was good, but sorry, not the best I've had. They have homemade tartar sauce, but we enjoyed the packaged one better. They do charge for refills on drinks and you need to ask for a glass, ice and lemon. For lunch it was almost $100 for 4 of us, so not the best deal around, but a nice lunch out.
