I was greeted by the friendly waiters who showed me the menu (because I am Indonesian, I tried to speak in Indo-Malay). At first they seemed confused because I wanted to try Ambuyat, which should be served for at least 2 people, but I ordered it anyway: Ambuyat, tumis urat (sautéed tendon), tumis daun ubi (coconut Milk base yam leaf stew), sambal tempoyak (spicy fermented durian), fried fish, and cut carrots and cucumber. The waiter first showed me how to eat the ambuyat and it is a fun experience! After meal I ordered a sweet dish called kue penyaram (kue cucur, in Indonesian). It is a must for a visit to Brunei!
Tried her Ambuyat Set for 2 people who cost $16. Portion is appropriate. Friendly staff.
Great experience for us first try Ambuyat! Nice and cozy restaurant for family food. The food is good. Recommended to go here while you are in Brunei.
I was craving for ambuyat and this place serves it. Very traditional Brunei Malay dishes. I'll let the photos do the talking.
Reasonable price and tasty food. Please try the ambuyat set. The side dish is delicious! Oh if you do choose the ambuyat set, you might want to avoid ordering any rice because the potion is big for 2 people to eat. Nyum!
