It tasted like bland crab and frozen thawed cooked flavorless shrimp stuffed in a bun with a few bits of green onion, nothing more. Don't order this lackluster meal that is not worth $26 each. The view is the only impressive part to our visit. Left a horrible taste in our mouth, won't be going back there.
Ordered the calamari, it was terrible, four pieces on top and a dish full of batter nuggets , blah !!! Do yourself a favor and don’t order it . Everything else was Delicious . Oh instead of 14$ they only charged us 7$ for the batter nuggets ! Disgraceful . Never leave a bad tip , but I did tonight ?
Amazing chef Tom from Louisiana knocks it out of the park
Nestled in the scenic coastal town of Bandon, Oregon, The Wheelhouse Restaurant and Crow's Nest Dining offers an experience that captures both the charm of the Oregon coast and the culinary excellence that food enthusiasts crave. The restaurant has a split-level design, with “The Wheelhouse” on the main floor and “The Crow's Nest” upstairs, providing diners with sweeping views of the harbor. The interior is cozy, with wood accents and maritime decor, making it feel like a true coastal getaway. Whether you're seated downstairs or in the upstairs dining area, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual family meal or a romantic dinner. The staff is friendly and attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and eager to ensure you have a great dining experience. The service feels personal, and it's clear the team takes pride in making guests feel welcome. The menu at The Wheelhouse is a testament to Oregon's bountiful local produce and seafood. You'll find classic coastal dishes like clam chowder, Dungeness crab, and fresh-caught fish. The chef takes a farm-to-table approach, ensuring that every ingredient shines with freshness and flavor. Dishes I would recommend, while menu is full of good choices, these are my recommendations. The Clam Chowder is rich and creamy, packed with fresh clams. It’s a must-try. While the Dungeness Crab is a local delicacy, served simply to let the flavor of the crab speak for itself. For a lighter option, go with the Fish Tacos, with perfectly grilled fish, fresh salsa, and a hint of spice. The Pan-Seared Halibut is an expertly cooked dish with a crisp sear and tender, flaky fish. To finish it off with a desert, the seasonal fruit cobbler is a perfect way to end your meal, offering a comforting, homemade feel (if there is any left, seeks out quickly). A great value, for the quality of the food and the setting, The Wheelhouse and Crow's Nest Dining offer good value. The portions are generous, and the views add to the overall experience, making it worth every penny. Our overall experience with The Wheelhouse and Crow's Nest Dining is an exceptional choice for anyone visiting Bandon. Whether you're a local or a tourist, the combination of a relaxed atmosphere, delicious local fare, and excellent service makes this restaurant a standout. With its prime location overlooking the harbor, it’s an ideal spot for enjoying a taste of the Pacific Northwest.
The restaurant is at a convenient location, got nice atmosphere and friendly service. However, that’s not enough to make it a great place to eat, ad the food here is really subpar. We had quite a few dishes, the calamari was ok, the chowder was average at best. The fish salmon and chicken was blend, but passable. The flat iron steak with prawns was the worst dish I’ve had in a very long time. The steak was on the small side, and it was overcooked, dry and very blend. The prawns are overly buttery and salty, I wouldn’t eat it if it was 5 bucks, let alone 40. Overall a disappointing experience.
