Wonderful food/service and spectacular view of the Golf Course overlooking the Pacific Ocean! Great Experience! ?? McKee’s Pub for an Excellent Dinner!
I have eaten at this restaurant a few times before and thoroughly enjoyed the curry tofu stir fry. It was the only item on their menu that was vegetarian and it was delicious. I was hoping to repeat the experience but was very disappointed that the menu had changed. The 'vegetarian ' replacement was called a 'power bowl ' which was a misnomer. There were about 5 garbanzo beans, very sparse showing of feta cheese, very few vegetables and lots of rice. Mostly carbs, fat and hardly any protein or fiber. It was also very tasteless with no seasoning and lousy tasting green goddess dressing. The server and other staff were very good and accommodating.
Loved this place and I don't even like golf! The staff was very attentive and friendly, and the view of the links is just gorgeous, and the food was delicious, if you're looking for something upscale but not formal check it out.
We popped over to the Tufted Puffin Lounge at the Bandon Dunes Coarse/Main Lodge for lunch yesterday after walking Sheep Ranch for a tournament. We were seated after about 15 minutes with menus and water but sat quite a while before anyone came to our table. That person, presumably a manager, refilled our waters and then walked away. My stepdad got up and ordered drinks at the bar and when he sat back down the hostess came over to get our drink order. I don't think she was prepared to take our food order but she did when we asked. Our food came out pretty quickly but in that time our waters were picked up and refilled about 17 times not because we were drinking them that quickly. Haha. It was a little weird but at least we stayed hydrated. We finally met our server when the food came out. I ordered the Pork Belly BLT which had a bacon jam rather than sliced tomato. The pork belly was perfectly crisp and juicy and the tomato jam added a nice savory tomato flavor. I chose garlic fries which were also amazing. I found myself scooping up the garlic on the plate with crispy fries and devoured everything on my plate. My stepdad ordered the Cobb Salad which looked great and was a huge portion he couldn't finish it. Mom got a Skirt Steak salad which she had on a previous visit and loved. It had sweet potato, quinoa and a cilantro dressing which sounded amazing. Uncle had a burger boy do they make good looking burgers (and I found out just how good they were the following day at Pacific Grill). This is definitely a 5 star location, just not on this visit. It was a solid 3.5 stars though. All points docked for service issues. Everyone was very friendly but the chaos in the beginning between having no server or communication for 10 minutes, over zealous drink refilling and handling drinking glasses by the rim couldn't be overlooked. As with every other restaurant on property, the quality of the food was above and beyond for what you'll spend on it. I think all of our meals were between $12 15 each. Well worth every penny.
