Andhra food always finds favour with my palate. A recent visit to Akshara at Residency road and here's my review of the veg fare I had.Munakai (Drumstick) soup Spicy and flavoursome. Even though I wasn't in the mood for soup, I couldn't stop sharing it from my friend's bowl! The starters are their usual spicy fare. Baby corn 65 was especially good. Chili Paneer was OK.The Bonda sherbet, made with tender coconut was quite refreshing.Moving on to the main course, Ragi sangati (ragi mudde Andhra style) was my favourite.Jowar roti was soft, the jeedi pappu iguru or cashews in gravy was Ok. Their spinach dal onnthe other hand was too good. I believe that's served as part of their thali.Speaking of thali, the portion is good and has a good combo of items to suit your palate.Desserts Khubani ka meetha and gajar halwa were just OK and a tad too sweet for me.Overall, I liked their offerings for the spice and flavours. Would definitely come back to check out their thali again.Naveen Suresh (Bangalore Epicure) DeepaShri Rajan Swati Mishra Gourav Mahendra (GouravFoodie)

Situated on the bi-lane of Residency Road the restaurant is easy to spot. <br/ We were a group of 6 people, hence we got to try several dishes at the restaurant. <br/ Starters : <br/ Akshara chicken : it's a well made dish with perfectly balanced Flavors, I'd recommend trying it.<br/ <br/ Prawn pepper fry : another good dish with good blend of masala and the addition of cashews added a certain depth to the dish. <br/ <br/ Baby corn 65: crispy and delicious with just the right amount of spices. <br/ <br/ Main course: <br/ Natu Kodi Pulusu: A perfectly made country chicken curry that went brilliantly with the Raagi Sangati <br/ <br/ Allam Kodi: a ginger based boneless chicken gravy, if you like a strong ginger flavour you can't go wrong with this one and goes nicely with Jawar Roti. <br/ <br/ Jeedi Pappu Igguru: a cashew nut based gravy, it was rich but lacked flavour if you're looking for something bland this would be a decent choice. <br/ <br/ The service can run a little slow but the staff are extremely courteous. <br/ <br/ The ambiance is like a typical Andhra Restaurant not fussed over yet pleasant.
The food here is the best Andhra style cuisine I have ever had. The Biryani tastes like heaven. The service was very prompt and the ambience is very nice. Must try!<br/
