Visited this place last week with a bunch of friends for lunch. The ambience of this place is old rustic.<br/ <br/ We had couple of vegetarian starters and out of all I liked the himachali tandoori mushroom. Tasted really well.<br/ <br/ The ulte tawa ke parathe went well with paneer lababdar Dal makhni .The tandoori anans served with vanilla ice cream was quite good.<br/ <br/ Overall it was a decent experience at Umerkot
FOOD 5/5<br/ Quality of the food is excellent. Both veg and non veg.We ordered Paneer k sooley, Paneer lababdar, Lehsuni naan, Jeera rice, Chooza makhni.Taste was authentic north indian style. <br/ <br/ STAFF 5/5<br/ Staff is friendly<br/ <br/ AMBIENCE 5/5<br/ Elegant ambience. <br/ <br/ Personally, I don't bother about ambience until unless restaurant is serving great food. Many road side dhabas small hotels with very congested seating area serves really amazing food. <br/ <br/ COST 4/5<br/ It’s expensive. But the kind of food they serve, it justifies the price range
This is a summary review. Detailed review coming up next week.<br/ <br/ Umerkot has been around for a long time and primarily serves food from the Sindh District, and is close to North Indian Food. It is a large place with comfortable seating, and the low hum of music allows you to carry on a conversations with ease.<br/ <br/ The food, while not being extraordinary is pleasant enough, and the reasonable pricing makes it a good deal overall. More on the food later.
I had been to Umerkot for lunch on a weekend, the place is quite old and is run by Chef Sanjay Tyagi.<br/ <br/ The ambience is very subtle and the music is very soft. Mostly instrumental tracks. Good place to take family out for dinner or lunch as the seating is comfortable and you can have a good conversation here.<br/ <br/ For starters we tried out quite a few Vegetarian options and the best was the Tandoori broccoli. Himachali tandoori mushroom was nice too. Aloo chaat was presented really well.<br/ For maincourse we had the Paneer Lababdar and Dal makhni, accompanied with the Ulte Tawe ka Paratha and Jodhpuri Paratha. Ulte tawe ka paratha was slightly on a sweeter note which I liked. One of us tried the Naan too and it was very soft.<br/ The dessert was different, Tandoori Ananas Grilled Pineapple) served with Vanilla Ice cream which was topped with dry fruits. One of a kind and yummy!<br/ Over all it was a comfort meal and I relished it.<br/ <br/ Vedshree @littlefoodiegirl)<br/ <br/
