Cam Ranh Bay - BANNER ELK

The service was very disappointing and the food was questionably vegan. Listed as being vegan friendly we were optimistic about this place but left sadly disappointed and frustrated. After we were seated it was 20 minutes before a server came by the table to even take drink orders. We asked the server to confirm what items on the menu were vegan and because it wasn’t clearly marked. The server didn’t seem to understand the difference between vegan and vegetarian and we were told everything under the tofu and vegetable section was vegan even though some of the items were clearly listed as having egg in them. So we took our chances and ordered what looked like the safest things on the menu. Then we waited, and waited, and waited. It was over an hour before we got our food. Tables that had been seated after us had received their food, eaten and left before we saw ours. Wait staff was inattentive and rude. I don’t think I trust the ingredients to truly be vegan and the staff doesn’t seem to know. I have no desire to go back to this place again.

I was worried that we wouldn't be able to find many veg friendly places on our vacation. Thankfully our hotel was right across from Cam Rahn Bay. They have a good selection of vegan and vegetarian food. If you order pad thai, be sure to mention you'd like it without eggs. The food was pretty good. It hit the spot. Just what we needed after a long day of hiking.

The food and service at this restaurant have been mediocre since the new owner took over two years ago.

The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! Our server, Nancy, was a wonderful hostess. She provided great recommendations, accommodated my request to make my meal extra spicy, and even brought extra chilis for added heat. Everyone in my group had a fantastic time and enjoyed the sushi. This restaurant has a family-friendly atmosphere and has been in business for over twenty years, now run by its fourth generation. I would give it a perfect 10/10 rating!

If we have the time, we'll make the ride from Marion to Banner Elk just to get food from here. It's always delicious and we're never disappointed. We had their Vermicelli, rice plates, Pho, Papaya salad it is not spicy, so I only add my own paprika, Vietnamese salads, egg rolls and veggie stir fry.
