Had heard good things about the restaurant, so decided to try it for our high-time day. we chose the set menu that we thought, saw the menu, seemed very good. the meal was nice, but the portions were quite small. that said, there was a cheese car in which we would have sneaked if we wished and much broth. the personal was very friendly and professional. beautifully, that I am sure would be even better in summer. I have to say, however, that we both found it was missing in the atmosphere. the lighting was too bright and there was no music. a little tune music would have been great. it must be updated. a pleasant evening, but it felt definitiv as if we were eating in a hotel restaurant.
When I listened to the waiter enthusiastically touting the menu of the day rather than a la carte, plus the fact that I was the only customer, I started wondering... but several more tables soon filled up, and the day's menu turned out to be...delicious! It was nothing unusual (scallops in butternut squash soup, beef and vegetables, cheese cart, and crème brûlée), but impeccably prepared, and the excellent local wines further increased my delight. There was only one waiter--good thing he was energetic! Pleasant, spacious dining room with ocean view.
Normally I don't eat at my hotel. Hotel food tends to just be something to keep the guests from dying of starvation. This is the exception to the general rule! Great restaurant, great staff, great food. Ate there twice and kinda wish I had eaten...there all three days of my stay. It was really busy one night so the service was a bit slow but man the waiters were quick and efficient. How many times can you say that about a French restaurant. The meal was not quick, it just allowed a small staff to take care of a full house. But yet our waiter still had time to suggest we take our after-dinner drink in their lounge and show us his suggestion and other options. Great suggestion! We loved the hotel too, which I also reviewed. We'll be back and will eat here again, and again, and again........
I came here for work and I am glad we did! The food was VERY good: foie gras as a starter, guinea fowl with Jerusalem artichoke mousse as main course and strawberry salad with thyme sorbet. It was really delicious!! On top of that the...view was fantastic and the waiters excellent!! We were a big group with different menus but it was no problem for them. Le Miradou is the best way to have great food for a reasonable price!!
