What a great place! Very sweet waiter with decent English that helped us navigate this perfect lunch menu. 3 courses with about 5-6 choices for each course and oh so much delish food! Starters for us bean soup with chorizo, a vat of it. Fresh Italian string beans and potatoes in olive oil. Sounds simple but really nice. Then grilled fish and a porchetta style chicken were tasty. Finally a creme caramel and flan. A bottle of wine, bread and olives included and with two vichy’s and a espresso our total was a booming 25€. Couldn’t eat doe the rest of the day. Make Rez as they fill up, especially on weekends. Will go back!

For the past 5 years we have been visiting Barcelona twice a year and we frequent La Llama about 4 times a week for lunch. We have hesitated to list this on Trip Advisor as it is a delight to go somewhere that offers great food and is not inundated with tourists. However the food is SO good that we have decided to share it. Located within a 10 min walk of metro stop Camp de l’Arp on the blue line. It is extremely popular with locals so aim to be there by 13:00 to get a table. 10 euro a head for 3 courses a bottle of wine. Menu very seasonal changes every day. Owners Pedro Ni'eves do not speak English but are very hospitable. Most of the times we order never knowing what we are getting but we are never disappointed. Pedro makes the BEST crème Catalan. Take the Maragall exit from the metro. Go down Carrer de la Nacio and at 5th intersection turn left into Carrer Besalu

The food was great and so was the service. I don’t speak much Spanish, one of their servers spoke English well but the older staff didn’t but they were so jovial and we figured out a way to communicate, especially on recommendations. The portions were pretty good (and this is coming from an American who likes to eat large and in charge) Definitely would recommend the pulpo a la gallega Only thing is they do run on Barcelona time, I wasn’t really sure when they close. We tried to come back a second time but it was already too late and we tried a third time it was open but they seemed to be setting up for a private dinner thing so we weren’t sure if it was open, we tried asking but they didn’t really answer us so we just left. It’s such a shame it was such a good place I just wish the hours were more clear and I really wish I had another chance to eat there before leaving
