Fifteen Raval - Barcelona

Would recommend for families and couples! The Tapas was excellent and the Rioja went well with it. The location is just off La Ramblas in a lovely square.

This delightful cafe was hidden inside a courtyard opposite the University, adjacent to CCAC and Contemporary Art Museum. Primarily occupied by university students and faculty, we were the only tourists. We enjoyed a complete menu del dis for just 8.50 euro each. The meal was huge and tasty, though choices limited. I started with Fideuia, a paella like noodle dish. It was scrumptious. Next I had a cod sautéed with garlic, vegetables and potatoes. Delicious. For dessert the choice was a square of chocolate cake or a cafe. I chose the cafe, freshly prepared. The meal also came with a bottle of water. My partner started with golden mushroom soup, then a chicken garlic and potato dish. Excellent meal. My only warning is of about twelve tables in the courtyard, we were the only non smokers, but the crowd was interesting,bathe service great and the meal tasty. Great ambience despite the smokers.

Absolutely charming place, cheap beer and food, lovely waitress although she didn’t speak English so the order was a bit muffed, but maybe that’s my fault for not speaking Spanish. Love to go back.
