This was a really famous church and the place had a very calm and positive energy. It's a must visit place and photography is not allowed inside the church. You can hire guides for detailed history and significance.

One of the most ancient churches in old Goa. The Basilica of Bom Jesus is more than 408 years old. The basilica is located in Old Goa, former capital of Portuguese India, and holds the mortal remains of St Francis Xavier. The architecture aesthetic beauty of this place will blow your mind. Just amazing visuals. It's recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The church is divided into 2 building facing opposite to each other. You can buy few mementos here though those are a little costlier. Wear proper clothes as they don't allow you to enter if you were to short or revealing clothes. Entry for that is just 10/ per person. It is open to the public every day. Church closes by 5 pm. You need around 30 45 minutes to enjoy your trip. Definitely a must visit if you visit Goa for the first time.

Beautiful place to visit in goa. It is very magnificent from outside. All the cathedrals recognized by archeological department of India are near to this. Weekends are mostly crowded.

Good to have a peaceful time. And there is an exbition opposite to this church which is quite wonderful for landscape pictures and there is all about history of popes.
