Our waitress checked us several times during our visit. We were served salsa and chips on our arrival. The chips were warm, what we like. The salsa was served in a small bowl, seems to me a little watery. My wife thought it looked and tasted more like ketchup. It wasn't a deal breaker. The decor was very whimsical and creative. When you dine with small children, I am sure you can make a game from the decor while waiting for your order. I had the Burrito Jimador, who was a large flour tortilla, filled with shredded chicken with salad, tomatoes, acid cream and served with rice and beans. You can change the chicken for seasoned beef if you wish. The portion size was good, not great, and the Burrito I would say is on par with any Mexican restaurant you would visit today. I had a frozen margarita, which was good and again with everyone like Mexican restaurant. I'll say I'm glad I didn't order a big margarita because the medium size was big enough for me. My wife had the Burrito Spinach with shrimps. The burrito was filled with spinach, mushrooms and ricotta cheese, with a house marinara sauce and shredded parmesan cheese. Burrito was served with rice and steamed vegetables. My wife enjoys the Burrito, but was somewhat surprised that only three shrimps were served with the Burrito. The charge for the shrimp seemed a bit high. I'm here in a dilemma between a 3 1⁄2 star and a four star review for El Jimador. Unfortunately, Google does not allow reviewers to give half stars on reviews. I think there's more to a four-star review than a three-star one. That's why I'm going with the four stars.
Very busy 3:30 Saturday afternoon. the portions were large, the salsa was bland, the hot sauce was very hot! the server was busy and he worked very hard. I would eat there again.
Today, eating was fresh and tasty. I had the new chori pollo burrito. comes filled with cubes, maize, black beans, acidic sawn and something nice, which tasted like paprika, covered with a slightly spicy cheese sauce. I had to take 1/4 after lunch, because it was too much for me. good menu item.
Clean restaurant and toilets. friendly staff. they don't wait. only 10 minutes waiting for our meal.
I got the grilled beef burrito and it was very good, except that it came with sour cream. The menu only mentioned lettuce and tomato, guacamole by request, so I didn't know to ask for no sour cream. My wife got the ribeye. She always orders med rare and every restaurant over cooks. This was no exception, but they made her another one and it was good. All in all the food was great except for the salsa served when seated. It was literally only ground tomato. No seasoning, cilantro or anything. Flavorless. We were very confused and asked if that was the normal house salsa and was told yes. Oh well. Anyway, our service was good and we will probably eat here again.
