The atmosphere of the restaurant was very special. It’s very old and you go back in time in the ambiance of older times. Check the glass in the floor Special shout out to the owner and the waitress È stato fantastico e speriamo di rivederti!
Light dinner for 3, owner very friendly. Food was typical fare for locale, abundant portions, good sausage, large salads, good cheeses, good wine- all at very reasonable price. Basic wholesome fare, not a fancy dinner. Would not hesitate to return
What a wonderful; setting for a restaurant in the old town. we had a selection of cured meats, Venison, wild boar sausages with local cheeses, a great experience, but the best was the wine the owner recommended, which went straight to the top of my favourite wines.Ask him.
The food was fine (overall), and the waitress was friendly (consistent with the previous reviews) but the owner is a shameless thief. First of all, he doesn't give proper bills, the checking machine is fake, perhaps it has something to do with the Guardia di Finanza poster on the wall. Second, he tried to rob me of 5€. I handed a 100€ bill for a 32€ meal we ate. Obviously, the change is 68€. The owner was holding a 50€ bill and some coins, but for some strange reason, he went on to break the bill dowm in smaller denominations. The reason became apparent afterwards: he wanted to trick me by handing as many bills as possible, such that I wouldn't bother to count properly. He had enough spare bills for the change. The owner handed me 63€ (two 20s, one 10, two 5s and 3€ in coins) and pretended that that was the proper change. I insisted that this was a fraudulent attempt to test my elementary math skills; faced with such limited, yet intimidating italian skills, the owner of the place had to accept his defeat (while displaying a profound disgust, a reaction which, to be honest, I enjoyed more than his 10€ tagliere with several pieces of stinky cheese from Carrefour and chopped darkened cabbage). After all, the pseudo-mafioso had to accept that the math is not any different in his restaurant than in any place of the world. I would rather watch a dog defecate on the escalator than return to that place.
Fun time and fabulous shared plates in a beautiful room. Friendly hosts who make the most of limited English. We had a great night. Thanks for taking me down to the cellar too!
