Pizzeria Portento - BARLETTA

We've been here twice so far and both times I had pizzas which were beyond comparison! Delicious pizzas, local craft beers and open-hearted people make this pizzeria a perfect place for a wonderful dinner. I wish I had a much longer vacation to try all the positions from the menu!

Walking the streets of Barletta in search of a pizza place we found this one. The place is in a charming little ancient square very picturesque yet with modern and fancy decor. The food was amazing. What strikes me most is that in this land of old traditions which many consider unbreakable and unchallengeable, the chef in Portento loves to experiment and push the boundaries. My pizza had aubergine caviar instead of tomato sauce for instance and whole dish worked surprisingly well. Beer from a local brewery in Puglia was a great find for us as well. I'd recommend this place to any traveler looking for great pizzas accompanied with lovely pint.

We've been there with family recently for a pizza dinner. The place welcomes you with a good smell and the oven/pizza bench close to the entrance. The pizzeria was warm but a little bit chaotic; the tables are too close to each other: removing a couple of tables would make the place more enjoyable for customers. We had some fried vegetables for starters, nicely served in a mesh tray;the batter is light, but you can still smell slightly the oil. The pizzas are very good: the dough (I had the regular flour) is correctly leavened and cooked. Just a note: this is a good pizza considering the electric oven.(not a wood fired oven). The toppings are balanced and of good quality. I had one with tomato sauce, capocollo, smoked stracciatella and dried cherry tomatoes: very good. They served also one with mortadella, pistacchio sauce, mozzarella that is well worth the visit. Good service and prices in the upper end of a nice pizzeria; even though the dimension of the pizza and the electric oven should bring down the prices(again, good toppings could justify the upper pricing). I would come back and suggest for sure the place.

Per me è una delle pizze più buone della città, impasto soffice e leggero, ma soprattutto con ingredienti particolari. Unica pecca è il conto, è forse anche una delle pizzerie più care della zona

Ottima organizzazione dei tavoli, ho trovato spazip tra uno e l'altro e molta comodità, l'ambiente è bello e rilassante. Nulla da dire sulla stuzzicheria e le focaccine, le patatine erano davvero ottime. Passiamo alla pizza, buonissima! Personale cordiale, gentile e disponibile. Valutazione finale: consiglio vivamente!
