Roots - Barnstaple

I discovered this cafe through a vegan Facebook group and decided to check it out. What a great find! I could have easily ordered everything on the menu, but I opted for a delicious sweetcorn fritter wrap with fries, while my partner chose a Mexican burrito wrap. The menu also featured a variety of other options like curries, breakfasts, and burgers. It was a refreshing change to have such a wide selection, unlike the typical one or two choices you find in most cafes. I highly recommend this place! Oh, and there's a lovely resident dog named Otis!

We've had some delightful curries, wraps, and salads from Roots, and now they've also started offering breakfast. This morning, I tried the vegan full breakfast while my husband had a gluten-free version. It was a delicious way to start the day! Roots really came through for us during the COVID lockdowns by providing excellent takeaway meals and accommodating our vegan and gluten-free needs. I highly recommend them!
