Puerta Del Sol - BARRA DE NAVIDAD

We were strolling towards the Malecon when our attention was diverted to sounds of good tunes (salsa from above. We climbed the steps and took a seat. We enjoyed the live 3 piece ensemble of local musicians (sorry didn't get the names.. playing salsa, cumbia,...meranga, and a whole lot more. It's the kind of music you just cannot sit down to listen to. So, we just got up and danced, didn't even need a dance floor. We were served by an expat lady speaking both English and Spanish... obviously the owner. Service was fine, drinks were fine and we had a table in front of the back windows which looked out on the beach and ocean. We had quite a few good shots of smooth tequila (Azul We didn't realize they had food, if we knew we would've eaten, but too busy dancing. After enjoying over 2 hours of music we tipped the band 100 pesos, worth every cent. Our drinks were a fraction of the price we would've paid at home where we don't order tequila because it's usually Cuervo evil rotgut. This stuff, no hangover, yay! Oh yes, next night we went back after dinner and it was open mike night which was fun too, but definitely couldn't touch the music of the previous night. This is a definite go back if we return to Barra in the future.

Had an amazing night at Puerta Del Sol on our last day in Mexico. Never had my group and I received such great and genuine service. We met the owner, Coco and had amazing conversation, food and drinks. She speaks fluent English and Spanish....We had such an amazing time that they stayed open late to let us stay. Truly our most memorable stop of any bar or restaurant of our entire trip. It would be a service to oneself to go to Barra and not visit that place.

We spent the night here as well as many family members. Very clean and well maintained. Right on the beach and in the perfect place to explore the city.

Drawn to this place because of the live music! Found it to be a great hang out with affordable drinks, awesome staff and owner andgreat views. If you want to have snacks or a meal or just drinks this place is the best day or...night! Fun fun fun

Situated right on the beach, I found a beautiful little family friendly restaurant run by a Canadian Gal Corrine . Lovely lady, lovely restaurant. Featuring a bar and an art gallery with handmade crafts, Peurto Del Sol offers a full menu from 10am til 10 pm...daily, with the snack bar open from 10pm til 12am. Entertainment is provided nightly during the season. Go ahead and try.. you won't be disappointed. The views are wonderful, and the sunsets divine.
