Nice friendly staff! Good food, fun cooking over the grill in the table! Dim drums were delicious and the choices like Lemon Chicken General Tao Chicken were good! Short ribs cooked on the BBQ was very good!
Great food, good size portions, so you can try many ways. The service is attentive, but could use larger BBQ area if 4 at a table.
We usually go over the road for Korean, but they were closed on Tuesday, so we decided to try this place instead. My husband lived in Korea years ago and really knows his food. We've been going to Korean restaurants for years, many in Ottawa, where we lived. This place is more Chinese than any form of Korean. The All-you-can-eat is very basic elements and very few options. Mostly Chinese, like Dim Sum and General Tao Chicken. We ordered Green Tea because they had no Korean barley. We also had Bibimbap and Bulgogi. Both have really not tasted as they should, yet they have all the ingredients we have expected, especially in Bibimbap. It was still good, but wasn't really bibimbap, it was a completely different dish. Taste nothing like Bibimbap, but it was still delicious. Sown in stone bowl as usual. Service was pretty fast. We also liked the ambience and the furnishings. The Korean aspect of this place is the idea of cooking at your table, but the food seems prepared by non-Korean. For example, no small plates were served with our meal, which is usual and always included in any Korean restaurant. We were not disappointed by our food just that we wanted Korean and that was not true Korean in taste in every degree.
This was our first time, as a family, at Tian Ya BBQ. The service was great, and very quick. It took a while for the grills to heat up, but once they did, the cooking was no problem. We'll be back!
